The aesthetic of this box draws from the tradition of Hispano-Moorish azulejos, a centuries-old craft introduced to the Iberian Peninsula as early as the 15th century. These motifs, defined by their geometric interlacing and earthy, ocean-inspired tones (ochre, blue, green), were originally created to enhance and reflect light.

The cork base is no minor detail: it pays tribute to the cork oak forests, a cornerstone of Portugal’s landscape and sustainable economy. Each irregularity in the ceramic is a signature—a mark of the human hand, embracing time, care, and a more thoughtful relationship with everyday objects.
