The "Lenço de Namorados", literally handkerchief of the lovers, is a handkerchief made of fine fabric, embroidered with various colourful patterns and phrases or verses. 

It is a typical Portuguese icon from the Minho region (Northern Portugal).This authentic version is entirely hand-embroidered on a piece of natural linen. It is made by a small artisanal workshop in Viana do Castelo.
