This bowl can be used as a small serving plate, as an aperitif bowl, as a pocket tin or simply as a beautiful decorative object. Of course, it's also perfect for serving tinned sardines.
Its quality is remarkable, and great care has gone into its finish: the shapes are perfect and elegant, the edges and reliefs are sharp, the finishes are fine and the colours are perfectly applied.

This piece comes from a small workshop in central-west Portugal, in the province of Estremadura. Its design is typical of Caldas da Rainha ceramics, whose most famous creator is Bordallo Pinheiro.
The moulds used in this workshop have been passed down from generation to generation, and the current owner uses his grandfather's moulds. All the pieces are carefully crafted entirely by hand, and production is very limited.
